Soaring Eagle Ranch is certified organic through the New Mexico Organic Commodity Commission (NMOCC.) What does that mean? No pesticides, chemicals, growth hormones - our cattle and the grass they eat are grown the way nature intended.
Want to visit Northern New Mexico's most unique ranch? Contact our office to set up a time and we will be happy to set up individual or group tours.
Soaring Eagle Ranch's
prices are based on the weight
of the meat you take home.
There isn't any "hanging weight", "processing weight", etc.
Why
is this important? Well, as a customer recently pointed out,
a
rancher from whom they buy meat charges much less per pound
than
Soaring Eagle Ranch. l I pointed out that she was buying the
"hanging weight", and the $3.50/pound was for the meat BEFORE it is
processed, so for her quarter of a beef, she was paying $3.50/pound for
185 pounds but actually putting 100 pounds of meat in her
freezer. Why do some producers do this? Most often,
because
the processor they work with will only give them the weight of the
hanging side before they cut; they don't have the time or means to
weigh the meat once it is packaged. It isn't a problem unless
you
think you are getting 185 pounds of meat!
For comparison, a
quarter of Soaring Eagle Ranch beef (100 pounds in your freezer) costs
$665. Brand X (225 pounds hanging weight, but 100 in freezer)
costs $647. When you make your purchase, make sure
you ask
these questions!
